Support Tomorrow’s Nurses!

Give the gift of professionalism to our incoming nursing students and future Gator Nurses by sponsoring a white coat for a student. A $35 gift sponsors a nursing student’s white coat, which will officially be given to students at the annual White Coat Ceremony, a new tradition begun in fall 2014.

White coat ceremonies are traditionally a celebration of health care students as they move from preclinical study into the clinical area, signifying this transition into the profession.  As part of a national movement, the nursing white coat ceremony is designed to instill a commitment to provide humanistic, patient-centered care among incoming nursing students.

By offering White Coat Ceremonies, our schools are sending a clear message to new nursing students that compassionate care must be a hallmark of their clinical practice,” said American Association of Colleges of Nursing President Eileen T. Breslin. “Securing a commitment to providing patient-centered care at the beginning of a nurse’s professional formation will help to raise the quality of care available to all patients.”

You can help to inspire a commitment to quality care for our newest nursing students by sponsoring a white coat.
